Post Production Editing

Couples often ask, "how long will it be before we see the finished wedding film?" At Digital Imaging of Cape Cod we are a full-time business. We do not have other jobs, this is not a part-time business for us. As such, we are working 100% of our work day, literally 6 days per week in the wedding season to produce stunning wedding films and photographs in a timely and efficient manner.

When we come home from a wedding we immediately download up to 3 full hours of video footage or up to 2000 photographs to two separate storage drives. One we keep online for editing, one we disconnect to protect against possible power surges or other disasters.

The state of the art video editing suite is amazing and allows us to put all of our creative energies to full use.

First, all footage is brought into the suite where a multiple level time line interface is used to cut, trim, rearrange and a host of other functions to assemble a cohesive full length wedding film. Next comes the review process and selecting scenes for our popular video trailers. At his point we have committed up to 7 hours of intense concentration time.

Now comes:

Rendering the time line: 3 hours

Uploading the online trailer: 1 hour

Authoring BluRay DVD's: 1 hour

Burninging BluRay DVD's: 2 hour

Packaging and mailing: 1 hour

Average time per wedding edit: 15 hours

Average time on site at wedding: 8 hours

During the height of our season we are covering 3 and 4 weddings per weekend. By the middle of the wedding season our editing queue does begin to back up and by November wait times for finished wedding films or photographs generally are 1 to 11/2 months.

We thank you for your patience. We do work as quickly as possible.
